Nova Scotia’s Waterfront Development has launched two promo videos showcasing just a few of the amazing boating experiences to be had around Nova Scotia. In August 2016, we were fortunate to partake, guiding the film crew and their charted yacht through the nearby wild islands and landing on the Sandbar at Borgles Island. Waterfront Development writes about the videos, “When visiting Nova Scotia, the places to explore are endless. Travel along our Southern Shore to Halifax, continuing on to the Eastern Shore and Bras d’Or Lakes. There is no shortage of amazing adventures to be found.”
It was great fun seeing this large yacht up close and watching the aerial drone do its filming. After anchoring on the Sandbar’s west side, the crew launched their sea-doo to land at the sandbar. Some filming of the cast members was done on the beach and in the water, then the film crew asked if they could video us launching our row boat from the beach. We found it an odd request as we had done it thousands of times in the past. It seemed entirely mundane and not at all exciting enough for a video, but we happily obliged. Sadly, it seems that none of the three or four video takes of us carrying this row boat into the water was good enough to make the final cut. In hindsight, they may have been pranking us, seeing how many times they could get us to carry this boat into and out of the water… Oh well. At least our tour boat, Murphy’s Legacy, made it into the final video!
