Effective May 16, 2024, campgrounds in Nova Scotia (including private campgrounds like ours) must also follow provincial daily burn restrictions that are in place to help prevent wildfires. These restrictions apply to campfires. Therefore, campfires are not permitted between 8 am and 2 pm, as per the the burning restrictions.

Each day at 2 pm, the NS Burnsafe map is updated to show the restrictions for that day.
- red means burning is not permitted that day
- yellow means burning is permitted after 7 pm
- green means burning is permitted after 2 pm
- It is important to check before you light a campfire. Guests can check daily burn restrictions via the above links or by calling 1-855-564-2876 (BURN)
Fines
While on our premises, you are responsible for burning only when permitted. Those found guilty of having an unpermitted campfire are subject to a fine of $28,872.50, as per provincial regulations. Conservation officers, police and other law enforcement officers can issue the fine on the spot in the form of a summary offence ticket.
