How far is your campground from Halifax, Nova Scotia?
We are located approximately 80 km from Halifax/Dartmouth, along the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. The drive will take approximately 1 hour.
When do you open and close for the season?
Our season is May 15th to October 15th. However, you may camp outside of the season if you accept that not all facilities will be available. Please contact us for specific details of which services will not be available.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be made 48 hours in advance of your reservations first night. Failure to do so may result in being charged for the first night.
When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time is 2 pm and our office closes around 8 pm. Check-out time is 11 am. Arriving earlier and staying a little bit later (especially between Sunday to Thursday) is often not a problem, but please check with the office first.
What is there to do in the area? What activities do you have at the campground?
How far in advance should I make a reservation?
We accept reservations up to one year in advance. Popular weekends and sites may book up very early so the sooner you reserve, the better chance you have to get your preferred site. Remember, we do not process your credit card unless you fail to adhere to our cancellation policy.
Does your campground allow dogs?
Yes, we allow pets as long as you keep them under your control at all times and clean up after them.
Can our dog stay in the rental trailer?
No, many people are allergic to pet dander so we are very firm about not allowing pets in any of the rental units.
Can I take my dog on the scenic boat tour?
Pets can go on a boat tour only if it does not bother other passengers and the Captain approves. (Your pets size & temperament and available space on the boat are factors)
Do the campsites have fire pits and picnic tables?
Yes, all of our campsites have fire pits and picnic tables, with the exception of site 19 which does not have a fire pit. We also have cooking grills available free of charge at the office.
Can we put more than one tent on a campsite?
Yes, but your equipment must not be in the way for other campsites or pathways and a fee for additional persons must be paid if you have more than four persons on your campsite.
Can we have more than one vehicle on our campsite?
No, but there is parking available near the office. If you also have an additional tent on your campsite, you will be required to pay for an additional site.
Can I reserve a serviced site with just a tent?
Yes, we have several campsites which are suitable for tents requiring electricity.
Do the RV sites have sewer hookup?
No, but we do have a dump station which is available for free use on any stay of 2 or more nights.
Can I access wireless internet from my campsite?
Most of our campsites are within range of the access point. However, if you cannot access the internet from your campsite, our recreation hall has a wireless access point inside.
When is quiet time?
Quiet time starts at 11 pm and ends at 10 am. This means that there must not be any loud noises during this time including excessive yelling, laughter, or music. You are permitted to continue your campfire after 11 pm as long as noise levels are kept to a minimum. However, our communal campfire often goes beyond 11 pm on Friday and Saturday nights so we encourage you to join us at this location. Very little noise radiates from the communal campfire area due to its location and surrounding terrain.
Is alcohol permitted?
Yes, we have an open alcohol policy. However, aggressive or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and the police will be called if necessary.
Is there an age restriction for making a reservation?
Yes, you must be at least 19 years of age with a valid credit card to make a reservation and you cannot make a reservation for someone who is underage.
Is there a swimming pool?
No, we do not have a swimming pool, but we do have the Atlantic ocean.
When are the scenic boat tours scheduled?
Typical scenic boat tours will depart at 10 am, 1 pm, or 6 pm. However, these times may vary so please check at the office for more accurate times.
Can I bring my boat?
Yes, we encourage boating and kayaking. If you are staying at the campground, you may use the marina facilities at no extra charge. We may ask that you park your boat trailer in the parking area near the office.
Can we book a boat tour in advance?
Yes, but keep in mind that the boat tours are weather dependent and may need to be rescheduled or cancelled.
